BOLIVIA
THE LAST REFUGE OF THE GENUINE
There are places you visit, and places you feel. Bolivia undoubtedly belongs to the latter. We are convinced that this country deserves more than a classic tour. That is why we have created an expedition that allows you to experience Bolivia in a truly special way. Here, a landscape unfolds before you, with a power all of its own, largely untouched by the noise of mass tourism. A land where the earth stretches to the horizon and seems to merge with the sky.
A CONSTANT DIALOGUE WITH ALTITUDE
A large part of the route takes place in regions above 3,500 metres. Acclimatization is therefore an important part of the expedition. The route is carefully planned and continuously adapted to the conditions on the ground. Safety and comfort are just as important as the adventure itself. We carry emergency oxygen on board and follow clear safety protocols so that you can enjoy the expedition with peace of mind.
ALTITUDE & ACCLIMATIZATION
The route is designed to allow your body to gradually adapt to increasing altitude. Several early stages are deliberately planned to support acclimatization. If someone does not tolerate the altitude well, emergency oxygen is available on board. The route can also be adjusted at any time and, if necessary, descend to lower altitudes.
EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT
For unexpected situations, we carry comprehensive first-aid equipment. This allows us to be prepared for minor medical incidents and injuries that may occur during the expedition.
4×4 & RECOVERY EQUIPMENT
Our 4×4 vehicle is specially prepared for the conditions of the Bolivian Altiplano and equipped with additional gear for remote terrain – including an air compressor, traction boards, tow rope, shovels and a tyre repair kit.
REMOTE, BUT NOT ALONE
The expedition deliberately takes you into remote regions, but we are never completely on our own. BO-EX has a strong local network in Bolivia that can provide additional support if needed. At the same time, we remain flexible and can adapt the route, daily schedule or location to the conditions on the ground.
ACCOMMODATION & MEALS
An expedition through the Bolivian Altiplano also means adapting to different conditions. We carefully select our accommodation and place great importance on cleanliness and a pleasant atmosphere.

In larger towns, we stay in selected hotels in good locations with a comfortable mid-range standard. There is also time for independent activities, and you can choose local or Western restaurants according to your own preferences.
The further we venture into the Altiplano, the more limited the options become. Here, we stay in simple, locally run accommodation. These are part of the expedition experience and allow us to reach regions where tourist infrastructure is very limited.

Meals also adapt to the different stages of the expedition. Throughout the journey, you can expect fresh, local meals, usually prepared directly at the accommodation. Breakfast and dinner are generally provided at the accommodation.
Lunch is taken at local restaurants along the way or prepared by us – in the middle of nature.
Accommodation and meals are therefore also part of the BO-EX experience: local, uncomplicated and authentic – adapted to each region and the conditions of the expedition.
